MAAWS Bangladesh distributed food and oral saline packets to 350 families in Shatakul, Baddathana (suburbs of Dhaka) with an engine boat. People were desperate for food and supplies that they almost sunk the boat. Victims are waiting for the return of more volunteers to come back with supplies. There were so many people affected by the flood that the efforts made by MAAWS staff and volunteers were very small.
MAAWS is actively working in the field giving dry food and clean water. Government relief is too little to cope with this devastating situation. The people of Bangladesh need adequate supplies, food, clean water, oral saline to prevent diarrhea, shelter, etc. Your generosity will go a long way.
