What MAAWS stands for.

MAAWS is an acronym of Munshi Atar Ali Welfare Society. Munshi Atar Ali, was a merchant farmer who lived in the village of Earpur in Senbagh, Noakhali, Bangladesh. Ali devoted his life to helping others through education, social development and sharing of community resources.

Covid-19

After the COVID-19 outbreak in Bangladesh in April 2020, most villagers in Earpur lost their jobs due to the lockdown. MAAWS distributed household packages of rice, dal, potato, oil with the assistance of local businesses to 250 families. MAAWS also created a COVID-19 community outreach campaign teaching social distancing, washing hands, wearing a mask

Starting from 12/22/2021, MAAWS hosted a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in affiliation with the Government of Bangladesh Department of Health.
