MAAWS originally started as a samaj, a community organization, in the late ‘20s by its namesake Munshi Atar Ali. Knowing education was the key to success, he started the Earpur Primary School in his own home and later founded the Earpur Pre-School.
Continuing the legacy, MAAWS founded Earpur High School in 1973 and a women’s vocational school. The schools have educated thousands of students since opening their doors. The government has since overseen management of the schools however MAAWS continues to support the schools and continuously strives to improve the quality of education.
Many of the students are beneficiaries of other MAAWS programs such as the Sewing Training Program, Computer Learning Center and the MAAWS Health Complex.
