As in most developing countries, rapid urbanization has concentrated most of the Bangladesh’s health resources to urban cities leaving rural villagers in desperate need of health resources.
Villagers living in our project area have to travel at least a couple of hours to the nearest government hospital to seek treatment. The MAAWS Health Complex exists to provide free to low-cost quality health care to those living in the heart of rural villages of Senbagh.
Our three story outpatient facility opened in 2012 and is located in the village of Earpur in Senbagh, Noakhali. This area has a high need for services in primary, pediatric and natal health care. We have three physicians specializing in internal medicine and gynecology, and a physician assistant on staff to treat our patients five days a week.
